인사말

Greetings as the new principal of the Korean School affiliated with Tri-Valley Church.

Recently, K-Pop, K-Drama, and even K-Beauty have become hot topics in the media, which highlights the increasing prominence of Korean culture. Consequently, many Korean-American parents with children in the U.S. are enthusiastic about teaching their kids Korean, and there is a growing trend of pursuing bilingual parenting strategies at home.

There are many benefits to being bilingual.

The first benefit is the relationship with parents. If children do not communicate with their parents about the challenges they face in school and with friends, an ’emotional disconnect’ is inevitable. However, when children speak the same language as their parents, they can maintain a familiar relationship, further understanding and inheriting the experiences and traditions of their parents through generational bonds, a sense of belonging, and unity. Bilingualism serves as a bridge connecting generations, leading to cultural communication.

The second benefit of being bilingual is the ability to communicate with a wider range of people. Knowing how to read and write in two languages doubles the ability to acquire information from novels, magazines, news, and media. Bilingual individuals can deeply understand and communicate with different cultures beyond surface-level experiences.

I sincerely respect the parents who have decided to pass on this great heritage to their children by enrolling them in our school.

Our Korean school aligns with these parents’ intentions by providing a systematic curriculum, experienced faculty, and large, stable facilities to ensure that children lack nothing in learning Korean. Together with our dedicated faculty, who serve with genuine love for children, we will do our utmost to help children deeply understand bilingualism and culture, develop a proper identity and character based on Christian values, and grow into confident members and excellent leaders of American society.
